Who we are:

The Rotorcraft Aeromechanics Laboratory was a relatively young and dynamic centre of activity in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Glasgow University. The Laboratory was founded in 1999 as the Rotorcraft Research Group in the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London and moved to Glasgow in 2006. Its members specialized in the development and use of advanced computational models for rotorcraft application. The activities of the Laboratory involved a synthesis of computational fluid mechanics, non-linear structural mechanics and coupled multi-body dynamics to investigate problems in a range of helicopter-related fields such as performance, flight mechanics, vibration and acoustics.

The Laboratory closed in July 2010. This website serves as an archive describing its members and their activities. The website also contains a comprehensive database of the publications that were produced during the twelve-year history of the Laboratory.
